James works as a Cloud Native Security Engineer at ControlPlane. In his day to day, he focuses on static and dynamic security assessments covering cloud native, infrastructure as code, policy as code, CI/CD, and architecture appraisals. He specialises in offensive security, Kubernetes, and cloud native technologies. He has reviewed the security posture of numerous organisations' cloud infrastructure and systems across a variety of retail, financial, and regulated environments. James also enjoys participating, contributing to, and running CTFs and community events. This allows him to share experiences and ideas that he's had in client engagements, at conferences such as KubeCon Security Days & BSides London.
Dr. James Callaghan is a Cloud Native Security Architect at ControlPlane. He started off working as a Theoretical Physicist, but long nights of coding sparked an interest in how easy it can be for vulnerabilities and weaknesses to creep in, and thus a career in cyber security was born. James then spent a number of years consulting as a Security Architect for UK Government clients, where he specialised in designing secure Public Cloud architectures. A particular interest in container security led him to ControlPlane, where he works with clients operating in highly regulated environments, helping them to protect their systems against the multitude of cyber threats facing any organisation operating in the data age.
Matt is a Software Engineer at Tetrate, working on Istio-related products, and loves sharing the latest tech and trends with everyone. He's been doing Dev, sometimes with added Ops, for over a decade. His idea of "full-stack" is Linux, Kubernetes, and now Istio too. He's given many talks and workshops on Kubernetes and Istio, and is co-organiser of the Service Mesh London meetup.
Tom is an Engineer at Tailscale with a penchant for all things security. Formerly at Google as a Security Engineer, he spends his daylight hours building safer systems and implementing Zero Trust, both within the product and as part of the larger ecosystem. Tom greatly enjoys working with the low-levels of the technology stack, and you can often find him experimenting with Linux minutiae or prodding at Trusted Platform Modules.
